Service in Lubbock
In our quest to love our neighbors as ourselves, we are focusing our efforts in the following outreaches at Redeemer.
English as a Second Language
This
class is specially designed to care for the Hispanic community in
Lubbock. We will begin this February and have class every Sunday night
from 5-7 pm at the Mahon Public Library. The aim and goal is to improve
reading, writing, grammar and conversational English skills. For more
information about this class, contact Laura Hastings at or (806)543-8343.
International Student Ministry
The
ISM was established to care for the more than 1000 students and
families who have moved to Lubbock to gain degrees from Texas Tech
University. There are many ways to get involved. Primarily we encourage
individuals to adopt students to invite into their homes and develop
friendships with them. We pray that students from non-Christian nations
have the opportunity to hear about Christ and see the Christian life
lived out in us. One of the primary ways for someone to meet students
is to come to “International Lunch” every Thursday during the TTU
semester (January 10 - May 9) at the Southcrest University Building
(1407 University Ave.). We also host special events, bible studies and
parties in an attempt to share the work of Jesus Christ with people who
might never have another chance to hear it in their lifetime. For more
information about how to be involved, contact Drew Remke at or (806)283-0819.
Parkridge Pregnancy Center
This spring we will begin a small group for single moms with the Parkridge Pregnancy Center. For more information, contact Janna Huddleston at or (806)781-5752.
