Redemption Groups
What?
A Redemption Group is an intense small group that digs deep into the complex and hellish area of addictions and habits of sin. The groups do not provide professional counseling or therapy, but rather are built on the belief that the Gospel is the power of God to redeem deeply-worn patterns of sin and rebellion.
Who?
Those who struggle with constant, ongoing sin in any area of life. Some common habits of sin include: fear of man, eating disorders, codependency, substance abuse, isolation, depression, and a track record of broken relationships.
Goal?
For participants to gain solid footing for continuous gospel-based, heart-focused change. Do not think that participation in a Redemption Group will fix all of your problems. While we are confident that joining a group can be used of God to operate on you, we also understand that deep and lasting change takes time.
How?
Participants will be placed in groups based on gender. They will not be grouped by issue, as much of the sin and temptation we face is common to all. The basis for healing and change by the Gospel is also common to all. Therefore, participants can relate to one another, as the same roots of sin and the same gospel-themes are revealed, even though the specifics of each participants experience will differ. Participants should expect to expose their lives to others and to engage the struggles of other group members.
