Baptism

All of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death. We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:3–4)

Every time a person enters into a new life with Jesus Christ, the Bible tells us that all of heaven rejoices. Baptism is an outward proclamation of an inward reality that God has created new life within that person. As the believer is immersed beneath the waters, they are proclaiming that the old self, enslaved to unbelief and sin, has died. And as they are raised up out of the waters, the believer is proclaiming that the new self, freed from sin and death, has been raised in the resurrection of Jesus. In baptism, we publicly proclaim that we belong to Jesus. 

We are baptized because we believe in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. As a result, when you are deciding if you should take the step to be baptized, the question you are asking is “Am I a Christian? Do I have faith in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection?” We want to help you connect with God and ask these questions in community.
