Trip Information
Vision
Join the work in Chiang Mai as the team on the ground reach college students, artists, and young professionals (CAPs) with the gospel in a place where only 1.1% of the population is Christian. While most believers are from rural tribal communities, those in the cities remain largely unreached, holding tightly to Buddhist and folk traditions. CAPs, in particular, have had little exposure to the gospel, making this a crucial area of focus. On this short-term trip, you’ll work alongside a dedicated long-term team, building relationships and sharing the gospel with this key group. Come gain firsthand experience with Thai culture, Buddhism, and church planting among the unreached in this vibrant city!
What's Expected
We ask every participant to remain flexible, as plans often change, especially on the mission field. Due to the unique cultural dynamics and the nature of the work in Chiang Mai, we encourage participants to have some prior cross-cultural experience and a basic understanding of Southeast Asian culture. This background will help you better navigate the challenges of the trip and engage more effectively with the local community.
You will stay in an Airbnb in Chiang Mai. While the accommodations should be comfortable, please be prepared for some potential inconveniences typical of the area. You'll have the chance to spend time with local missionaries and workers, learning from their experiences. However, not all of your time will be structured or guided by them—there will be ample opportunities to explore the city and engage with the community alongside your Redeemer team.
While we hope for many opportunities to share the gospel and connect with Thai people, be prepared for plans to shift unexpectedly. Above all, your main goal is to learn, grow, and immerse yourself in a new culture, while serving alongside those who are already working to reach this community.
